What is iPhone Jailbreaking and its advantages?

When I was first new to the Apple iPhone, I didn't know what in the world jailbreaking and unlocking the iPhone are when I went to the eBay auctions and they kept talking about jailbreaking and unlocking the iPhone. I was curious and disturbed because I didn't know what they meant. So I went out to Google and search for the answer. In this article I will just explain in detail in my own non-technical words so you know what jailbreaking is. The advantage of jailbreaking the iphone is that it allows you to install some cool apps that the App Store doesn't offer. So are you exciting about the new 3G iPhone yet? I bet you are just as I was and I still am. But then there is one question coming up. How do you install the jailbroken apps on your iPhone? To install those apps, you have to use a program called Cydia which installed automatically as part of the jailbreaking process. It's basically nothing but similar to the App Store but with the free jailbroken apps.

While jailbreaking the iPhone has its advantages but it also has a big drawback. According to Apple Warranty Policy, if the iPhone is jailbroken or unlocked then its warranty is voided. So before you jailbreak it you have to think twice about it to see which one weights more, the cool apps or the warranty? If you want to have a lot of fun with your iPhone then by all means go ahead and jailbreak it. But if you mainly use it for business or for everyday communication then you may just wait until your warranty expires.
