No, the 3G will not have a double processor like the 3GS. Double processor is a hardware upgrade which means you have to have the 3GS phone to reap the benefit. 3GS is faster than 3G.

It is very retarded. I called att and they said that i could upgrade but i have to pay full price. Whats the point? att *****! Iphone has tethering and mms but you can use that because of att! I would maybe buy the new phone if it was a big change. No physical change only a better camera, better battery, and video recording not worth $200 more. i dropped my iphone in pool, lol. I had to pay $200 more to replace it than a week later the price drops by half. PEople have no sympathy, and apple is not smart. Dont sell something that is not worth the money, now poeple will just buy iphone 3g becaiuse it is cheaper and there is no difference.
so the upgrade your talking about is the 3.0 software which gives you only a software update while the new iphone will get a hardware upgrade with camcorder and better processor so no the iphone 3g will not have a a new processor or videocamera, but the 3gs will.
Are you serious? Do you think a SOFTWARE update, which is what the 3.0 update is, would change the HARDWARE???
The reason Apple’s new iPhone 3GS is 2x as faster is because of the hardware inside.

@ Daniel, that’s true about apps loading, but Safari is getting a major upgrade. Java in Safari will load about 3x faster with 3.0, but will load 3x faster than that on the 3GS. A web page in Safari on the 3GS running 3.0 will load 8.4x faster than the same page on the 3G running 2.2.1.
