The 16gb one is $199, and the 32gb one is $299 but when you buy the iphone at the store, they make you sign a 2 year contract with at&t. but if you want to unlock it, you can cancel the contract for another $200 – ish otherwise, you’ll have to pay for an at&t phone plan.

If you have the iPhone 3G it’s not worth the upgrade because then you’ll have to pay $399 for the 16 GB and $499 for the 32 GB. But if you have the 1st gen or don’t have it, get it for the first 2 prices mentioned, depending. You have to have an AT&T plan and if you get the lowest price on calling ($40) and the data plan, which is required ($30), you pay 70 dollars plus taxes as cheapest. If you get texting, there’s 3 plans for 5, 15, and 20 dollars.
